Nightfall returns to Old Tucson Studios
The biggest and scariest Halloween event in Arizona, NightFall 08′ returns to Old Tucson Studios October 3-October 31, 2008. Haunted Attractions and horrifying Live shows once again fill the putrid, night air of Dr. Jebediah Hyde’s Gouillard Asylum for the Perpetually Insane.

Tucson Children’s Museum is a wonderful to spend a few hours….INDOORS!…with the family. The Tucson Children’s Museum is located at 200 S. 6th Avenue in downtown Tucson. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and Sundays from 12 Noon to 5:00pm.
Enjoy a Labor Day treat at a Seuss-filled event featuring story times, children’s hands-on activities, a special dance performance, and free gifts to visitors dressed up as their favorite Seuss character at the Tucson Children’s Museum on Labor day. This event is scheduled from 11:00am to 3:00pm and is included with Museum admission.
Kids will enjoy listening to their favorite Dr. Seuss stories while making paper bag elephants, striped hats, play dough food, and more. Visitors dressed as their favorite Seuss character will receive a $10 coupon from Bookmans and can enter in the costume contest to win Build-A-Bear prizes.
The ZUZI Dance Group will perform the unforgettable “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

While times and money are tight, hotels and resorts are doing what they can to add more value to a stay. The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa, 3800 E. Sunrise Drive, is adding extra value through fun.
The resort has established a department of fun, employing 25 people. From Memorial Day to Labor Day its operating in overdrive to ensure guests have some fun.
From dive-in movies, to races down a 177-foot waterslide, live music by the swimming pools, games including soda dives and watermelon eating contests, stargazing, arts and crafts, cupcake decorating, nature walks and bringing in animals from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the department of fun wants to make sure something is always happening. When Amy Paterson and her husband started looking for preschools for their son, Jonah, they found the process pretty overwhelming. “I grew up here, but I was at a loss for where to start,” says Paterson, 35, who lives with her family in Portland, Ore. “Eventually I starting asking my friends and family, and we found a great school for our son. But it was confusing.”
Paterson isn’t the only one bewildered by all the choices. Shopping for preschools for your little one for the first time is exciting, but it can be difficult to know which is the best choice. The first thing you should consider, says Amita Gupta, an associate professor of early childhood education at The City College of New York, is what kind of environment you are comfortable with.
